Rescued from the Present Age
I first heard about the Lord at age 16. At that time my best friend got saved and I noticed she was a changed person. This made me very curious about her belief in Jesus Christ. I finally met the pastor and I asked many questions about Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ's love for me attracted me. I then accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior. I attended a non-denominational Christian church in Hawaii; but being so young at that time I did not take “living a Christian way of life” seriously. I drank alcoholic beverages, went to parties, went to dance clubs, and used profane language a lot. I felt empty even though I had received the Lord. I was not spiritually fed at the church I attended and my spirit wanted more and was yearning for more fellowship with Christ. I kept praying to the Lord to change my ways because I knew if I tried on my own I wouldn't be able to change. I finally met a friend who really loved the Lord and who was meeting with the local church. He is now my loving husband. He introduced me to the local church, which was God's plan for me all along. I went to the church in Syracuse and spiritually felt so fed, happy, and peaceful. The Lord took away my bad habits, and I am now functioning in the Body for God's purpose and for His economy (Ephesians 1:9-10)! Praise the Lord! Amen!
